  • Many countries have imposed restrictions on immigration while others have established quota systems and strict eligibility rules to regulate the inflow of people from abroad. It is, therefore, important to look at eligibility rules before applying for immigration. You can find out about immigration procedures by visiting the sections of this website that deal with different countries.

  • Even if one is eligible, immigration process often takes several months, therefore you should not give up you job until all these formalities are completed. It should, however, be noted, that for certain countries and for certain professions, the process may be completed in a matter of weeks rather than months. For example, it is relatively easy for IT related professionals to move between Canada and the United States of America under the NAFTA agreement. Please look up the immigration related websites included here for any special visa arrangements that might exist between countries.

  • Immigration is quite a complex subject, and it may help to seek the advice of an experienced immigration lawyer/consultant located either in your own country or the country you want to emigrate to.
